Your membership in the Twin Rivers Council:
Supports families

through the distribution of books and literacy materials to shelters, schools and the community.

Picture
Supports children
through "Reading Fun Day" held at the New Bern Mall. Families come on a cold and usually rainy Saturday in February and enjoy four hours of reading, games, in house and take home activities in the comfort and spaciousness of the mall. In partnership with the New Bern Mall, Sun Journal's NIE, Craven Smart Start, Craven & Pamlico County Schools, local Private Schools and the Craven County Library, Reading Fun Day served over 575 children and their families in February 2013.

Picture
Supports Writers
through the "Young Authors" and "Forever Young" writing programs.  The number of entries from each school is based on the school's number of members in Twin Rivers Council. The number of entries to the state level is based on the total number of members in Twin Rivers Council. The more members, the more entries we can submit.
