Twin Rivers Council members are also invited and encouraged to join our affiliated association, the International Literacy Association. This membership is separate from a Twin Rivers Council/NCRA membership. For more details on ILA membership, visit their web site at www.reading.org. |

Annual membership dues for Twin Rivers Council is $15.00. Ten dollars of each person's dues goes toward NCRA membership, the remaining five dollars is used to support the mission of Twin Rivers Council. Membership is valid from June 1 - May 31.

through the distribution of books and literacy materials to shelters, schools and the community.

Supports children
through "Reading Fun Day" held at the New Bern Mall. Families come on a cold and usually rainy Saturday in February and enjoy four hours of reading, games, in house and take home activities in the comfort and spaciousness of the mall. In partnership with the New Bern Mall, Sun Journal's NIE, Craven Smart Start, Craven & Pamlico County Schools, local Private Schools and the Craven County Library, Reading Fun Day served over 575 children and their families in February 2013.

Supports Writers
through the "Young Authors" and "Forever Young" writing programs. The number of entries from each school is based on the school's number of members in Twin Rivers Council. The number of entries to the state level is based on the total number of members in Twin Rivers Council. The more members, the more entries we can submit.
